The American actor and producer Robert Downey Jr. was born on April 4, 1965, to actor and filmmaker Robert Downey Sr., and his wife Elsie Ann, an actress. Robert was raised with his older sister Allyson. Since childhood, Downey played minor roles in his father’s films, and at the age of five, he made his film debut in the absurdist comedy Pound (1970) playing a sick puppy.

Downey graduated from Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center and dropped out of Santa Monica High School before moving to California with his father.

Downey started his career with theater roles. He was called the worst SNL cast member in its entire run, by Rolling Stone magazine. He has worked in movies such as Due Date, Iron Man, The Judge, Sherlock Holmes, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Chaplin, Dolittle, The Soloist, Iron Man 3, Iron Man 2, Gothika, Less Than Zero, Only You, The Avengers, Chef, Two Girls and a Guy, Natural Born Killers and many more.
